Fabulous effect. Looks like amethysts, but it is actually a dyed agate. Largest bead at the front is 2cm. Big sterling silver bolt ring clasp. Overall length 51cm. The patterning of the agate makes it a visually far more interesting necklace than if it was amethyst in our eyes. As there is a fashion for big stone necklaces and the cost of pieces of Amethyst this large would be staggering, several of the big gemstone dealers are experiementing with real stone alternatives that provide the look without the price. Curious as ever, we bought a sample. And you know, it really is pretty good.
